ORFA member Justin Fidler at the Komoka Wellness Centre in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre shares his recent inspection experience with the Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development. As ORFA has already shared, the Ministry will be focusing on our industry and Justin will provide a detailed overview of what was inspected and what information is being looked for. In this webinar, the ORFA will explore the positive outcomes from the inspection and how an internal commitment to health and safety will prove successful.

The OHSA requires written direction from a supervisor for any task that places a worker at risk of injury. Building on the recent event in south-western Ontario and the identification by some ministry frontline inspectors for facilities to have an SOP on ice resurfacer auger safety. The DRAFT Ice Resurfacer Auger Risk and Hazard Guideline has been posted HERE for member review and feedback. ORFA encourages all members with ice resurfacers to consider how this information might improve or strengthen current operations.
