Refrigeration Safety Awareness Workshop

An important role of the ORFA includes the responsibility to be the industry historian on events and advancements that shape the recreational operational and management landscape. The October 17, 2017 tragedy in Fernie, BC is one such event whose lessons cannot be lost. The three lives lost in that failed industrial refrigeration plant deserves to be honoured by reminding all practitioners of the risks and hazards associated with recreation workplaces. This session will feature TSSA Chief, Sue Hadley followed by presentations from Clauger Refrigeration, RC Mechanical, Guest Automation and I.B. Storey, all of whom will highlight their involvement in ORFA training and their respective innovative technologies and services related to the ice refrigeration industry..

Presenters: Terry Piche, ORFA, Director, Training, Research and Development, and industry professionals from TSSA, Clauger Refrigeration, RC Mechanical, Guest Automation, and I.B. Storey.
