ORFA Course Instructor - Basic Refrigeration

Due to increased ORFA member education needs, the Association is currently seeking qualified individuals, who have proven work experience and education, to instruct ORFA's course in Basic Refrigeration. 

This course is delivered to recreation facility personnel at an Annual Professional Development Program and on a regional basis throughout Ontario and serves as a component of both the ORFA Certified Ice Technician and Certified Arena Refrigeration Plant Technician professional designations. 

Individuals with the following preferred qualifications will be considered: 

  • Must be a member in good standing with the ORFA
  • Have a minimum of 5 years proven work experience in the care and control of an Ontario ice arena refrigeration plant 
  • Have experience in facilitating educational sessions in an adult learning environment 
  • Have strong presentation skills with a working knowledge of PowerPoint
  • Hold and maintain a minimum of a TSSA Class-B Refrigeration Operator Certificate
  • Hold and maintain ORFA's Certified Arena Refrigeration Plant Technician (CARPT) (formerly Refrigeration Plant Operations Technician - RPOT) professional designation
